Wickhambreaux 2nd classic car show and St Andrew’s Church fete – UPDATE
The Frank Montgomery Playing Field Committee and The Church Committee would like to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you from our community and beyond. We were humbled by the support we received, however little- it was all gratefully received. Time is so precious, yet so many of you gave up so much, to help raise money for our two village assets. The generosity of everyone for their donations and the local businesses for the wonderful raffle prizes was outstanding, and we thank you. We were blessed with fantastic weather, almost 100 cars, some bikes, the miniature railway and of course numerous stalls. The atmosphere was lovely with over 550 visitors and it was described as ‘the best community event in the village for 25 years’. Lastly we would like to thank our local residents for their co-operation and support. Now the news you have all been waiting for – The Total raised was a breathtaking £5372.63.
A Thank you to all those that supported this fund raising event.
On a personal note, I would like to say an enormous thank you to all the Frank Montgomery Playing Field Committee, The St Andrew’s Church Committee and all the extra helpers we had, I could not have done it without you. The Total raised £5372.63 which will be divided and our half will go towards developing our nature area within the playing field.
Now for those of you who were not aware, I must apologise, as I left the event early. Unfortunately I was the person that departed in the ambulance, as I broke my Fibula. Yes I know, a bit of a drastic way of getting out of the ‘Clearing Up’. On a serious note, I am pleased that it was me that was hurt and not anybody else, and I now have a good excuse to put my feet up. I would like to thank all of those who did the clearing up, and a big thank you to my husband Steve and our 7 year old twins, Cathleen and Charles who now have the job of looking after me. I have to say it was one of the most painful things I have suffered, so I apologise for the delay in relation to updates etc, but I have felt that I have been in and out of consciousness under the influence of strong pain killers…
My team and I will be having a ‘debrief’ soon, so anything that you thought we did well, please tell us, and also anything that we did bad or we can improve on, please also tell us (Constructively) You can email us at email@example.com
Providing I can get permission again from The Parish Council, we plan to hold our shows bi annually, from now on, so our next event will be in May 2018. So save the date.
Regards Caroline Rees on behalf of The Frank Montgomery Playing Field Committee.
